An historic "Towns" flood boat (circa 1918).

Restored by Alkira Boatshed for an owner who wanted this vessel for his "children's children".

This 20ft clinker launch is powered by a 2 stroke Turner engine but they were originally rowed and used in commerce, rescues and regattas.

This handsome vessel was built by George Towns, whose family made these quality craft based at the Dempsey Island in the Hunter River.

He was one of many Hunter boat builders who made fast, strong but light craft when rowing was the only method to get fresh produce from farms to the city market, quickly.

Another famous type of vessel built by these men used to be called a butcher's boat because one of its functions was to go to the ship's moored off shore to collect and deliver produce, mail and other essentials for the crew.

Launched 2004.
